Face Against the Veil

Lisa Harper during her Job study said “when we go through pain and suffering the veil between us and God becomes thinner” (supernaturally)

When she said that I felt as if I had a moment of YES! That is it! That is what we experience each time we come into contact with the Creator, especially during times of trial, struggle, grief, pain. That is when we experience this thinning veil phenomenon so much more. It’s like you can almost get just the tiniest glimpse of what it must be like to be fully in the presence of God, to have Him speak direct to you, and to feel His loving arms around you. I have an image of a toddler with their face pressed against a window and we are trying our best to see what is on the other side, but we only get just a peek of all that is instore for us.

I have experienced this just within the last 6 months on a regular basis and it seemed like all I had to do was log into Facebook and read what Ann Voskamp wrote for the day and it was directly for me. She had a direct line from God to me. It didn’t matter what was going on in my day it was always for me. I have so many saved items in my folder from her I feel like we could be best friends and I don’t even know her. Same thing for the music on the radio all the songs were exactly what I needed to hear at that moment and was like a cool drink to a thirsty soul. I again made a folder for all my worship songs a play them all the time on YouTube.

Despite the trials and pain you may be going through God sees and He knows. Just like He did with Job. He may not answer in the time frame we desire or the way we want but He is always on time. He has it planned out and oh how I wish I could see just small parts to know OK I have to make to here and then it will get better.

Job asked God repeatedly why and how, but never questioned God’s authority.

You may find yourself in this place with your face against the veil, feeling the breath of God, and the sounds of heaven around you. I hope it gives you HOPE in your time of need. I hope it gives you rest that there is only ONE who can overflow your cup each day when there is nothing else going right.
